Roshanak Keyghobadi is an award-winning educator and Assistant Professor in the Visual Communications Department at Farmingdale State College, SUNY. She teaches courses in Graphic Design, Typography, Histories of Graphic Design, and Design Thinking.

She holds a doctoral degree in Art and Art Education from Columbia University, along with an MFA in Graphic Design from Indiana University and a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of the Arts. She also studied Visual Communication at the University of Tehran’s College of Fine Arts.

Keyghobadi’s work centers on contemporary design histories with a focus on global and underrepresented perspectives. She lectures widely, conducts research, and writes on design and visual culture. Her essays have been published in both the United States (including AIGA Voice and Design Observer) and Iran (Neshan). She previously served as Managing Editor of Graphis publications in New York City.

Her artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally and featured in publications such as Fiber Art Now and The New York Times. She has received two AWDA (Aiap Women in Design Award) honors for her research on Iranian women in graphic design.

In addition to her academic and creative work, Keyghobadi is the host of the Iranian Women in Graphic Design podcast, where she documents, amplifies, and preserves the stories of Iranian women designers across generations.
